Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice Receives Gift from Van Horn Automotive Group’s Pay It Forward Moment
Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice received $1000 from Van Horn Automotive Group’s Pay It Forward Moment at the 2017 Chamber Champions Gala, held February 21 at The Osthoff Resort.
During the event, representatives from Van Horn Automotive Group chose Scott Pieper, logistics coordinator at Masters Gallery Foods, to select a non-profit organization of his choice to receive the gift.
“I chose Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice because of the excellent reputation they have for providing compassionate care to those in need,” Pieper said. “My friends have brought loved ones there, and they couldn’t say enough about the environment and staff. I want to thank Van Horn Automotive Group for the opportunity to be a part of their Pay It Forward Moment.”
The gift will support the hospice’s community outreach and patient care programs, all of which share the goal of maximizing the comfort and enhancing the quality of life for patients and their families.
“We are honored that Scott chose us as his charity of choice,” said Andrew Viglietti, administrator. “It is a testament to the services and care we provide to those in need. It is also a recognition by Van Horn Automotive Group of the importance of community support. We are blessed to have locally owned companies that understand the importance of supporting our community.”
That thought was echoed by Teresa Van Horn, chief operating officer, who said, “we have been very fortunate to have the support of our communities these past 50 years. Pay-it-forward gives us the opportunity to say thank you and give the community the additional opportunity to help each other out. The support that communities receive from our business and the many other businesses will help us to continue to grow and remain strong for the future.”
Van Horn Automotive Group’s continued generosity, along with ongoing support from foundations, businesses and individuals, will support the Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice’s mission of meeting the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of terminally ill patients and their families. The Hospice is Sheboygan County’s only community-based, non-profit hospice and palliative care provider, and the only local hospice with an Inpatient Center. The Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice offers care anywhere a patient calls home – in their own home, at a nursing home or assisted living facility - within a 60-mile radius of Sheboygan Falls; their Inpatient Center offers care for patients in need of 24-hour skilled nursing care.
