Taking a lead in launching the Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice Campaign to raise money for the Patient Care Fund is Mary Ann Thielke, Thielke Financial Services & Hospice Development Committee Chair; Peter Geise (left); and, Phil Zastrow of Community Bank & Trust.

A dynamic Team of business leaders is launching a campaign to expand the Patient Care Fund for the Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice (SSRCH).  Stepping up to the plate are Co-Chairs Peter Geise and Phil Zastrow, joining Development Committee Chair Mary Ann Thielke to ensure funds are available to assist patients with limited ability to pay for room and board, and certain end-of-life services.  With a goal of $250,000 (50% of the annual Fund commitment), this leadership group will receive support in their efforts from SSRCH Board Member Eric Tetzlaff, Mike Leibham and TJ Marini.

Over the next 6 months, the Executive/Community Challenge Team will approach area businesses and individuals seeking three year pledges in the range of $1,000 - $5,000 as “Caring Circle” members (Friends of SSRCH). Some of the early responders have chosen to make a one time gift at various levels as individuals and through their businesses.  Team members are beginning their outreach aggressively over the next few weeks.

The intention is to create a multi-year commitment from business leaders to support the Patient Care Fund and challenge the community to match these dollars – the average annual cost for supplementing care is $500,000.  The Harbor Centre BID Manager, Randy Schwoerer recently announced the September 15th “Taste—Sheboygan” event will be a benefit for the Hospice and serve as the launch of the Community Challenge component of the campaign.

In the long term, the Caring Circle Friends will support the Patient Care Fund commitment allowing development efforts to focus on Endowment growth. The community has rallied in support of SSRCH - an independent, not-for-profit Hospice organization since the building campaign in 2006.  Strategically, this is the next step toward long term sustainability.  Interested parties can contact Linda Cates, Development Director at (920) 467-1800; contribute through the website at www.ssrhospicehome.org, or mail a Caring Circle membership and/or donation form to SSRCH, W2850 State Rd 28, Sheboygan Falls, WI  53085.  On behalf of the Campaign Team – thank you for your support!
